HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES

Both children and adults can freely participate in Århus Kunstbygnings’s holiday workshops, which are based on the theme of the year and current exhibitions. The workshops let you experience contemporary art in a new way and be creative yourself.

 MOTHER/FATHER GROUPS

Babies – crying or prattling – are welcome at the Aarhus Art Building. Every Tuesday the Aarhus Art Building offers special facilities for parents with very small children who feel like enjoying themselves in the café surrounded by contemporary art.

There are plenty of opportunities to play on the floor, and the children are welcome to romp around on our coloured grid cushions and play with the available toys. The large windows in the café let you sit indoors and keep an eye on the pram outdoors.

There are also high chairs for the children and changing facilities, as well as the options warm milk or food. In 2012 we are introducing a new play facility: Your First Game, a fun educational and developmental game based on basic positive psychological principles that trains and strengthens motor and learning skills.

You are also welcome on other days than Tuesdays.

The 5 Games has been a permanent option for day-care institutions, but can also be used by families with children. The 5 Games function in the form of a number of props and a printed guide that is always available in the project space of the Aarhus Art Building. Playing The 5 Games, you find out that an art exhibition is also a place where you can talk, listen, feel, guess and have fun. Art can be fun – and that is exactly what The 5 Games are about. The 5 Games has been been designed for children age 3–6.
